![Diddy's defense is begging to start over
Sean Combs is being charged with blackmail, sex trafficking, and prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all counts. If convicted, he faces the possibility of life in prison.
Combs' lawyers argue that although he may be a domestic abuser, all the sexual acts were between consenting adults, stating, “‘[the] government has no place in this man’s bedroom.’
This is round two for the defense team attempting to get a mistrial in P Diddy’s case, coming just one month following their first try.
In May, the defense argued the prosecution was implying Combs had influence over the LAPD, enough to persuade them to destroy evidence regarding the arson attack on Kid Cudi’s Porsche back in 2012.
This past week, a new attempt at a mistrial request was made when Bryana Bongolan- friend of Sean Comb’s ex, Cassie Ventura- took the stand, stating Sean Combs had dangled her over a balcony in September of 2016. The defense argues Combs was across the country during the time of this alleged incident. In a letter written to the court on June 7th, Combs’s team wrote, "The government has presented testimony that it knew or should have known was materially false.” As of today, June 10th, Judge Arun Subramanian denied this request.
